SDS Design Consultants was opened in 1994 by Scott Simôn, an Architectural Designer with 12 years experience in the Architectural, Mechanical and Structural disciplines.
Scott Simôn started his design career in a Cadetship with John Lovelock & Associates - Registered Consulting Engineers & Surveyors in 1983. Within 2 years, two of the partners, W.J.R. Burrett and D.E. Lyons introduced another engineer
R. Baker to create Baker Lyons & Assoc. with whom Scott remained until the creation of SDS Design Consultants.
Baker Lyons & Associates were active in many areas of engineering design, using their vast range of experience, knowledge and technical expertise. In addition to Surveying and Civil Design, activities included overhead Gantry Cranes, weighbridges, precast concrete, structural steel, soils testing and diagnosis, Architectural design - Residential and commercial, mechanical and structural detailing.
Scott's passion for Architectural Design and Technical Drawing was evident from Secondary School where he effortlessly excelled among his peers. Scott applied the same attitudes in the Engineering Practice from the beginning and quickly created a base of people who have become a large referral client base today.
While with Baker Lyons & Assoc. Scott thrived on the exposure to all disciplines and the vast experience within the practice. During his near 12 year stay, Scott attracted his own Architectural clients to the business, making it inevitable that he set up his own Architectural and Structural Design Practice, servicing his ever expanding client base.
SDS Design Consultants today specialise in Lifestyle Residential Homes, Sub-division, Alterations for Residential and Commercial purposes, Structural Design and detailing. Scott has established himself as a Design Consultant with a wide cross-section of clients, today numbering more than 200, all of whom by referral. Scott has been able to expand his practice due to the selection of reliable and experienced staff who enjoy the same passion for Architecture and Structural Design as he has.
