AWARDS FROM CLIENTS, NOT "THE CRITICS"

Home Owners, Mangere Bridge

"It is with great pleasure indeed, that we can say how much we love our new home designed by yourself and your staff.

Thank you for your excellent suggestions, the first class materials used and the quality of service you gave. Also, our thanks for the handling of permits etc. as this certainly relieved us of any problems that may have arisen.

We have had more than six months of living in our home, so have sound knowledge of the comforts we enjoy, the warmth, sunshine and absolute welcome feeling from both indoors and outdoors. We are pleased with the design of the whole property.

We would have no hesitation in using your valuable services again in the future. As an elderly couple it was a comfort to us to be able to live away from Auckland while our home was under construction and know you would handle any problems that may have arisen. Again, thank you for your help and excellent workmanship".
Yours Faithfully,
D.E & N.J. MANN

"The work performed was done promptly and in a most professional way, at the same time having full regard for the requests of his clients. It took the pressure out of having to deal with council regulations. Good service".

Summerland

"During the projects that have been handled by you and your staff, I have no hesitation in saying that you take the headache away from the design phase. Your collective experience has helped you see problems before they arise and take them into account at the design phase.

Your designs are of superior standards as is your service and more importantly, your research into each project, whether it be residential or commercial , prior to your design of it.

I have recommended you to friends, family, and other business contacts who all echo my sentiments of your great service and products.

You can expect the continued support of my group of companies and my continued recommendation of you".
Yours sincerely,
D. Nakhle

Timber Sales Representative

"I am writing today to commend you with producing the best detailed Architectural Drawings I have seen. Being a Sales Representative for one of the largest Pre-Nail and Truss Manufacturers in Auckland, I see hundreds of Architectural Plans every month and the standard of drawings varies immensely. To accurately quote and more importantly, manufacture a top job, it has to start with good quality plans.

Your Architectural Drawing work has always been of the highest standard and complies with all the codes. Dimensions are accurate and the precise details are second to no-one. I always find a helpful and professional attitude when dealing with your practice. Thank you Scott and all staff at SDS Design for work well done. It is a pleasure doing business with you".

Zimmerman

"This is by way of a thank you for the support and professional help you have given Sarah and I over these past months.

As you recall, we were really in a lot of strife with regards to our building project, this as you will also recall was mainly due to our then architect and the Auckland City Council.

The architects faults, related to a paucity of design and calculations. You certainly could never be accused of this, as observers have commented how detailed your drawings are, in fact every nail has been accounted for!

Your quality of service, professionalism and the ability to resolve problems has been outstanding and we are truly grateful to have found you. There is only one way to repay someone such as yourself, and that is to "sing your praise to others". This we certainly have and would have no hesitation in continuing to do so.

Yes you do charge for your work, but it has always been fair and well explained, and we feel is good value for money.

We wish you all the best and look forward to using your services again".

Yours Truly,

Lightfoot

"Last year I approached SDS Design to produce a set of working plans for a house I wanted to build. I had already had work contact with Scott, and he had impressed me with his knowledge and professional conduct. The plans were manually designed and then produced on CAD and were the best plans I have ever worked from.

Scott was available for any questions and showed an interest in the whole project- through to the sale. I have no hesitation in recommending SDS Design to anyone.

A word from our (Council) Certifiers

To Whom It May Concern

In my role as a Building Certifier we deal withy many building consent applications for accessory buildings. I have often felt that because the application has been for an accessory building little regard has been given to the detail required on the plans.

There are many garage and carport companies out there who provide a basic set of plans without due regard to the intended use of the building. There is also a failing to accurately portray the site location of proposed and other buildings on the property, contours, access and drainage outfalls.

What do I mean by due regard? For example, you may be interested in restoring old cars. You certainly don't want to be putting a slab on the ground without polythene. Yet most companies know that polythene doesn't have to be placed in the floor slab and therefore do not supply it. If you then leave a tool or paint tin on the floor of your garage, a week or two later you will have a rust spot on the floor.

Similarly if you want to use part of this building for habitable use, there are other aspects which must be considered. The cladding, building paper, insulation, fixing and spacing of trusses, etc all need to be addressed. This is an area that is often brushed over and neglected when garages are sold, with the consumer not realising that there is a difference.

I therefore welcome GaraPlan's entrance into this arena. They have given a great deal of thought to the various scenarios and styles that a client might opt for. The plans are extremely well detailed meaning builders and homeowners will be able to follow them easily.

A wide range of plans is available, each detailed to the customer's own specific location and requirements. Because the plans are of an extremely high standard and a great deal of attention has been paid to the compliance aspects, the building consent application should be a streamlined and efficient process. This translates directly into savings for the client in terms of both cost and time.

I commend Scott's initiative and wish GaraPlan every success for the future.
